Happy Birthday, April!!!

Happy Birthday to my favorite sister! You are such a wonderful person and the best big sister a girl could have!

Remember when Jason was collecting bugs outside our window for his school project?!?! We thought someone was coming to get us! You were there with me as we ran for our lives down the hall! Remember when Jason and I would pick on each other--you were there to intervene and mostly took my side? Remember all the times you took me swimming or played with me outside or just let me hang with the cool high school girls? I do and I cherish those memories and our relationship! You have always been there for me and as we get older I hope we only grow closer!

I hope you have a great day and I love you very much!!!

Happy Birthday, Big Brother

Twenty-seven years ago, a little boy turning seven years old was anxiously awaiting his pizza party, birthday cake and presents! Little did he know his birthday party would be cut short only to have a new little sister! Here is the whole story as told by my mom.....

My mom and sister were out shopping for the party and she began to feel contractions, they quickly finished and made it to Jason's party. They had pizza, and cake and Jason opened presents; I think they even played games! I don't know how she did it but she made it through the party and very soon after rushed to the hospital. Two hours later at 11:51 pm on Friday, November 13, 1981, I was born. I was only 9 minutes away from the 14th and 9 minutes away from not sharing a special day with my big brother! Thanks, Jason, for sharing this day with me and always being such a great brother!!!

Fall has arrived

I have really enjoyed these last few days! The weather is perfect--beautiful, sunny days with a nice cool breeze! I love this time of year. It reminds me of High School football games, pumpkin patches, and carnivals for the family! It's great and it also reminds me that the holidays are right around the corner! I cannot wait for turkey and pumpkin pie and decorating for Christmas!!! I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Chicken Fried Bacon!!!

So we went to the Fair. You can't live in Texas and not visit the state fair. We ate and ate and ate some more. The first booth we visited was the CHICKEN FRIED BACON, the best taste winner for 2008. Jeramy got some for us to share. It wasn't that great. It wasn't horrible but definitely was not something I would crave. It's probably a good thing considering it was a heart attack on a plate. Just a few vendors down we stopped and I got nachos! I don't know why but I love state fair nachos! We visited the butter carving display of King Tut--how does anyone have the patience to do that or the time?!?! Lindsey, Dirk and I rode the ferris wheel! It was Lindsey's first time!!! It was a nice day--great weather, friends and of course food!

Moving...

Well, we closed on our house! YEA! We are all moved out and living in Wills Point for a very short while. And we found a new house. It is right down the road from our old house and it is also a foreclosure. This will be our second "flip" and needs a lot more than the first one but it has a lot of potential! I call it my diamond in the rough! Hopefully we will close by the end of November so we can start work! Since it is a government owned home, it takes twice as long to do anything!!!! Anyway, we are really excited!

I wasn't sad about selling or moving out of our first home until.... I drove by and saw things that weren't mine in the yard! They put up a windsock!!! Does anyone still have those? Sorry if you're a fan, but it was rainbow and hanging from the tree! I just hope they love it and take care of it like we did!

Momma's Boy

Presley, our boxer, is a Momma's Boy for sure. Dirk denies it but it's the truth. Yesterday, Dirk and I left the house to grab a bite to eat, half way to Chili's Dirk makes me turn around to go home because he forgot his list for Lowe's (his favorite place). I pulled up in front and opened the garage--thanks to Lindsey it works great--and Dirk runs in the house. I am sitting in the driver's seat with the car running and Presley darts out the door. He ran straight to the passenger door and stood with his front paws on the seat. Dirk tried calling him several times to get him in the house--nothing, Presley just sat by the door. He wouldn't budge. So desperately, Dirk tries to push him into the house. He is too big to carry and we unfortunately did not have a leash on him! I am laughing uncontrollably and Dirk is getting more and more frustrated. So I shut the passenger door and turn off the car thinking that Presley may realize that I am gone and not in the car. Again, He doesn't budge. So Dirk tries running to him and then running back in the house to get Presley to follow--NO LUCK. I see Dirk's aggravation so I get out, walk over to Presley and lead him in the house, and he follows without difficulty!!! I'd say that is a sure sign he is a Momma's Boy!

Great Weekend

We had a great but fast weekend! Everyone reading this probably knows we are selling our house! We looked at a few houses on Friday night. There were some great ones--excellent floor plans, great neighborhoods but no backyard :( I just didn't fall in love with anything yet. We will find one that's just perfect--I know it.

On Saturday, Dirk, Jeramy, Wendi and I went on the boat for a while. It was really nice; not too hot and the water was still warm. We all got up on the wakeboard but Jeramy has really proven to be the wakeboard pro! He jumped the wake--like 3 ft off the water. It was very impressive! Wendi and I were clapping and screaming for him. After the lake, we had everyone over for one last get together in our house! It was great. We made beer can chicken, mac and cheese, and potato casserole and played games!

Today reality began to set in. We are supposed to close on October 9th. That means I need to find a mover, pack a three bedroom, two bath, two car garage home that is overflowing with stuff in less than three weeks! It is overwhelming. I am not sure where to begin. We will get through it!

My Dad is in Ohio, and Mom is still here because their house hasn't sold so she has not been able to move with him yet; so they are letting us move into their house until we find something else! Thank you for that, I can't even imagine trying to find a new house or a rent house in such a short time period!

New to all this....

I am a blogging virgin! I am so excited to start this new blog to keep up with friends and family I don't see everyday. My dad recently moved to Ohio--so I hope he can check this frequently and feel close to home! We miss you Dad! I am also excited to share my funny stories with you (I think they are funny)! I hope you guys will enjoy reading our blog and maybe even start one of your own.

A little about Dirk and I. We have been married for 3 1/2 years and currently live in Forney--that's for another post. We don't have any kids yet just a fun loving boxer named Presley. Besides his HUGE tongue he is a great dog! We are very close with our families and have the BEST friends in the world. I hope y'all don't mind if I share your stories as well! We are loving life and SIMPLY living it to the fullest.
